Credentials for a Varied Musical Life
Degrees:
Bachelor of Music Education – De Paul University, Chicago, Illinois
Master of Music, Musicology (Music History) emphasis – Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois
After I received my Masters degree, I remained for a few years at Northwestern and completed all of the required course work for a Ph.D. My area of focus was French music during the mid-19th century. In particular the conservative Parisian music critic Paul Scudo and his adversarial relationship with the composers Hector Berlioz and Richard Wagner.
